How do I run playbooks from the Chrome extension?
TL;DR: Install Ballet Assist from the Chrome Web Store, sign in with your Studio account, and run playbooks from a side panel on any tab. You need a Ballet account and Chrome 116 or later.
Who this is for
Anyone who runs playbooks. The panel opens Ask Ballet in member mode, so it is the same place members already work. Building and editing playbooks still happens in Studio.
Install
- Open Ballet Assist on the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome and confirm.
- Pin Ballet Assist from the extensions menu (the puzzle piece) so the icon stays in the toolbar.

Open the panel
Click the Ballet Assist icon. A side panel opens beside the tab you are on. It stays there when you move to another tab, so you do not leave the page you were working on.
Sign in
The extension uses your existing Studio sign-in. There is no separate account.
- If the panel says you are signed out, click Log in to Ballet. That opens Studio in a tab.
- Sign in with the same email magic link you use for Studio.
- Come back to the panel. It picks up that session and shows Ask Ballet.
Run a playbook
The panel is Ask Ballet.
- Type
/and pick a playbook, or describe the task. For example: “Can you translate hello to Spanish?” - Answer the questions it asks. Do not paste secrets.
- Ballet runs the playbook in the panel and leads with the result.
A one-time question works the same way. If the app it needs is not connected, Ballet says so. Ask a workspace admin to connect it in Studio, then send the request again.
What the panel does not do
- It does not open Builder mode. Create or edit a playbook in Studio, then run it from the panel.
- It does not replace schedules, webhooks, or the API. Those still start runs without the browser.
