Recipe: Route a deal review with an evaluation agent

TL;DR: An evaluation agent reads a deal and chooses the next review: approve, ask for documents, or send it to sales, finance, and legal. A person still makes the call. A later step writes the summary.

Who this is for

RevOps teams that review deals before anyone updates the stage.

What you'll need

  • Connectors: HubSpot or Salesforce, Slack.
  • Agent: An evaluation agent with one choice question for the next review. See What is an evaluation agent?.
  • Trigger: Webhook when a deal is ready for review.

A deal goes to an evaluation agent, which chooses the next review: approve, more documents, or team review.

How to build it with Ask Ballet

  1. Open the Console on Home.
  2. Paste the prompt below and adjust the review options.
  3. Review the proposed plan and confirm.
  4. Connect the CRM and Slack, then register the webhook.
Build a playbook that triggers when a deal is ready for review in HubSpot.
Create an evaluation agent. It does not update the CRM and it does not write the summary.
One choice question, next: approve when the record is complete, docs when a document
is missing, review when sales, finance, or legal still need to look.
Pass the deal name, stage, amount, and notes. Do not send a prompt.
Read the choice and the confidence, and do not change a low confidence into another option.
Notify the owner in Slack. If the choice is review, wait for a person.
Only after the choice is stored, use a language agent to write a short summary.

What the playbook does

  1. Webhook trigger — receives the deal.
  2. Evaluation agent — returns the next review: approve, docs, or review.
  3. Notify — tells the owner. A team review waits for a person.
  4. Language step — writes the summary after the choice is stored.

Variations and tips

  • People still approve the deal. The agent only names the next review.
  • Do not let the evaluation agent change the deal stage.
